![]() I have two Fur Babies and they are getting older. How to take care of them and make them comfortable is becoming a priority. There are many things that affect their being able to move around well and still feel like good protectors needed on the farm. The first thing is steps. Since I live in a ranch style home, we don’t have to worry about this except for the front porch. There is only one step and they still manage it well. At some point I will be looking to put in a ramp for them. Thankfully I do have a handyman for a husband. I am too busy making FurBaby accessories or I probably could do it myself. If you are looking for ramps, I would think there would have to be a handyman in your area, who could build one for you. It probably would be a good idea to have a lightweight one that is portable if you take your pets with you in the car. I really can’t get mine to go anywhere as my “protectors” hate to leave the house. I also know they need comfy beds. It is too tough for them to climb on the furniture (Hubby doesn’t like that) I used to buy pet beds from the big box stores. They wouldn’t really last as the filling never stayed full. Now that I can, I have made new ones for both dogs. The ones I make are overstuffed with fill. It took a little while for the two of them to get used to the bed being bigger. Now they are loving it! But as they age I know they will need more. I plan to add afoam egg crate for each one. I have to give a plug for my products - the one in the picture is a type that will be coming soon to my store. I saw an article at rent.com on aging pets. The dog in the picture looks so much like mine, I had to stop and read what they had to say. I realized I had forgotten about raising the water and food bowls. I have a couple of ways I can do that myself, but I will probably look to the internet to find a good solution. Again, I may turn to the handyman for help on this one. I will keep you posted with pictures. Would love to hear from my readers on what they are doing to make life a little easier for the Furry ones in their lives.
